Addlesberger, a modernist painter/sculptor, lives on the slopes of Mauna Loa on the Island of Hawaii. After
serving two tours in Viet Nam with the United States Army's famous 282nd Assault Helicopter Company, Addlesberger relocated to Hawaii to study printmaking and Pacific Art History at the University of Hawaii. While living on
Oahu in the early 1970's, he studied printmaking from Jean Charlot and mural installation from David Asherman and Juliette May Fraser. In the 1980's he was owner and director of the Mauna Loa Gallery on the Island of
Hawaii. Besides the duties of gallery director, Addlesberger painted, conducted workshops and illustrated books. |
